December 10, 2012

Merry merry Christmasssss!!! :D I have been loving the Christmas time! This last week we had our ward Christmas celebration. It was super awesome. There were all sorts of traditional German goodies, songs, and poems! There were even a couple of investigators who showed up! The German songs are all super awesome.

This week I will be interviewing Herr Kluge from Glienicke to see if he is ready for the waters of baptism. His baptismal date is set for this Friday. I am excited to finally see someone enter into a beautiful covenant with our Heavenly Father! This last week I was reading in 2 Nephi 11 and Nephi talks about what brings his soul joy- and one of the things was "Und meine Seele erfreut sich auch an den Bündnissen des Herrn" ( ~My soul rejoices in the covenants of the Lord) I have been reading the Book of Mormon and finding so many new things that are important to me. I have really especially loved 2 Nephi 4 and 11. To see the desires of Nephi, a prophet of the Lord, has been great. Maybe I can't personally get to know President Monson, but I can read the journal of  get to know him through his writings.Nephi and

Haha. The 'ugly sweater' trend is in Germany too.... haha. and there's a super cool 'colorful pants' trend here that I love. I will have to stock up on some things before I come back to America :) Elder Bossart and Elder Smith in my district are both dying (going home) in a week! Today they each bought ~30€  of German chocolate to bring home with them. I feel like such a loser! I haven't sent anything yet! Hopefully I will get to that today. It's just weird. I haven't ever been away from you to have this need to send you anything... haha. Usually I can just give it to you personally. weird.

I have had a slight cold this week. So it has been kinda dumb. but it's okay... life goes on. Our 'Christmas Zone Konferenz' is on Thursday, where we will get our packages and stuff. If it comes later, hopefully we will be able to pick them up at the office. So no worries. It will be fine :)

Logan is already heading home?! that's so weird. Just shows how fast the 2 years really go by! so crazy.

I love being a missionary! I hope you like the photos!
Love,
Elder Braden Thorkelson
