Dia 252 Give me a Calling in the Yorktown Branch

Hello my fams

Well exciting week I have for you here. Some boring days and some
super interesting days. I will start off with today which is the day
of the transfer call. We received the call the morning with the news
that we are both staying in Yorktown. Haha what a party. It is unique
for a missionary in America to say that he has lived in a camper for 6
months, but I am about to accomplish this task at the end of the
upcoming 6 week period. What a life!

Some might say, "Wow! 6 months in a little camper! Are you going insane?!"

Well, yes, but that is besides the point. This transfer should be full
of many hoots and hollers. We have worked really hard this past
transfer to get the York rolling. And oh boy we got it rolling more
than it ever has before so that is sweet! We have one guy, Brother
Zuniga, who is set with a baptismal date for the end of this month. He
was baptized in the 70's in El Salvador. They lost his records
completely and he was away from the church for the space of many
years. This Sunday he came to church and told us that he has prayed
about it and wants to be baptized again (He didn't like the idea of it
a few months ago). So we were like, "sweet, we can make that happen,"
so that is what we are doing. Woo! He also bore his testimony in
sacrament and it was really good! We also have several other
investigators who, once they make it to church, will be just about
ready for baptism.

AND one guy just showed up to church because he felt like he should go
there instead of his own church... COOL. He said he will be back next
week, so that could turn into something. Haha.

This transfer will be the transfer of fruit plucking!πŸŽπŸ‡πŸŠ

Friday was interesting. We woke up and whatdoyaknow, the water pipes
froze and our camper was an icebox! Haha. Texas is so silly about the
weather! It just likes to be summer for a day, like 80 degrees, and
then drop the next morning to 20 and freeze everything in sight! How
dumb! Haha. Then we decide to study at the church so we have working
utilities at least and I break the clock in the primary room... but
don't worry, I taped it back together. It looks fine.... wait. Lol, I
literally turned around 12 seconds ago and he clock is gone. Hahah,
oops. Anyway.

Baby it's cold outside

So we started doing service at a nursing home! Haha it's super funny.
We talk to old people for like an hour and just answer the same
questions over and over... it's fun! And it's like a catholic nursing
home so I met a Nun for the first time ever! She is sweet! She has a
Polish accent and very happy all the time. She even got out a parrot
last time and it was so cool. The parrot is as old as me and it was
showing us all sorts of cool tricks and saying "Good Morning" to us.
Apparently it doesn't do that often. We are special😁 But yeah, I bet
that not a lot of people have seen a Nun hold a parrot. Hehe.

the De Los Santos! They make us above average food.

Yanno, the Priesthood is cool. I had the opportunity to participate in

a couple blessings this week. It's such a special thing. I love that
feeling. It's comforting to know that our church is led by God. Many
churches are led by men and sometimes really good men! But this church
is led by God through a prophet who holds all the keys to that
priesthood. That is why this church works.

Love you all! Hope your resolutions are still in action.. haha. Keep
me updated!😁
