HEY! Sorry the email is late today, but i just got to hike a sweet mountain!!! it was so crazy of a hike- but beautiful view from the top! the mountain is called nay-jeung-san. all the leaves weren't changed as i hoped, but some were. it was cool. we might go next week. we hope it will all be changed by then. we'll see if its worth the hike. i'll have to send some photos home of it. things are finally cooling down. some mornings are so cold! it's nice under my big fluffy blanket though. i like sleeping in a cold room and under hot blankets.
alright so investigators! the six cambodians are awesome. i've decided they are the coolest people ever. i feel like alma! two of them unfortunately had to move to some different area for a month, but the other four are progressing great and we have a baptismal date for the 23 of november!! their names are Ma-ra-di, Bee-git, Sopeea, and Sahm-nang. such sweet guys. we have found a few students too that just get it! we explain how when christ was on the earth there was one church. then after he and his apostles died the authority to run it was taken away. people started to make thier own churches in the search for truth. and then explain that there was a need for a restoration and they are like."yeah....that's right. i'm interested."HA! where do these people come from? prepared!
we also have a less active family we're working with that has two kids who havent' been baptized. he used to be a bishop- i dont' know what went wrong, but they decided it's time to come back. so we're teaching the kids the lessons. it would be sweet to have the dad ready to baptize them too!! so great!
in our ward we teach the gospel doctrines class. we kind of have to since it's needed to be done in english with all the investigators and there's a guy from new york in our ward with his filipiana wife. John Constantine. haha. epic name huh. President Perriton, at my interview this week, told me i have to do a musical number in church. haha. he says they members will love me. so it looks like i'll have to do that soon. there's about a billion kids...ah!
oh i have had the bi-bim-bap! i love it. our ward made it for ward conference here. everything was handmade. DELICIOUS! who told you about that?? it's real famous here.
Halloween! we are having a party in the ward on saturday. bobbing for apples, the doughnut eating contests, charades, ghost stories...it should be fun. especially if we can get these forigners out!
one last request for the box! i need gloves that have the fingers cut off. like the ones that are mittons and you flip it back to use your fingers. my companion says they are priceless in the winter so you dont' have to keep taking your gloves off to write or give people phamplets. if you can find black or grey ones that are really warm that would be great! if not just send the brown ones i got from AE.
I GOT GRANDPAS PACKAGE! thank you so much! i forgot your homemade fruit rollups existed! those are so good and will be used well! and crunchy peanut butter! sweet... i'm set! i got a suprise package from kayde casey and ally too for halloween. that was sweet! i was so excited! i can use some of the stuff sent for the halloween party too. whoot! i love my family.
ugh...well i am so tired and starving! i didn't eat lunch cause we didn't wanna pack it hiking...so now it's 5 and dinner time! we still need to go shopping too. ick....well love ya all soo much. i sent some letters- including the boys. i've got some others to other people that i'm waiting to send with photos...so sorry! haha. it's hard to write when your gone hiking a mountain all day! ah! ^^ the church is true! do your missionary work! read your scriptures and pray! have a good day -AND A HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
much love= elder thork.
