May 21, 2012

Haha I just thought you weren't going to write because we had just talked :P
You're almost done with school!! woot woot :) It is always a fun part of the year. My lagoon trips with schools were always so fun, gotta love it. Make sure you take lots of pictures! It is finally getting warm here! and you know what that means??....girls with short skirts/low cut skirts. great. yup, nothing but trouble.
It is always nice having family get together :) Those are always the best times. Yesterday morning after study, we walked outside toward the church and it smelled EXACTLY like California. It was the wierdest thing ever, and with every whiff of air, it felt more and more like I was over visiting the Thorkelsons in Cali :) loved it.

It would probably be easier to send packages to the mission office, because I'm usually not at our apartment... so I don't know if I would ever actually get it. and for contents... music (CD's too, the cars don't have a place for anything else), one garment top (I have an uneven number...) annnnnnd... maybe some simple recipes? oh! and we don't have normal measuring cups! haha. just mL and not cups... maybe a conversion chart for metrics? haha.
Nope, haven't heard from Porter or Jared yet. That is such good news about Porter! He goes through chemo for how long? 6 months? Excellent :) It is always good to hear from people :) still no Teej... haha. lame. I don't even know where he lives anymore. and there are all of those people at BYU-I that I want to send messages to, but I don't have addresses... bummer. (Trevor Greene, Jason Lucas, etc...) Life goes on.

So this week has been really nice, we talked with so many people. So many nice and kind people!...but so little interest in the gospel. I feel like that makes it that much more difficult. It's easy to love and care for people that are nice.
On Tuesday I saw a longboard!! haha. I wanted to stop the car and hug the guy. That was pretty cool. There are so many people with inline skates and rip-sticks, and like one or two skateboarders, and a billion people on bikes. It's so different how people travel here because of the awesome public transit system! You can get nearly anywhere with a bus or a train.

On Wednesday we had a Tausch (exchange) with the zone leaders, and I was with Elder Cottrell for the day. He's from Utah and is a super cool guy. He actually worked in Alaska with some of the Christensons! so he know's Rachel Christensen, Cody Crittenden and a bunch of random people that are from St. Anthony. Way crazy.
I'm starting to get into the flow... which kind of worries me, because then time starts to go by faster and faster...ah! crazy.

Cool... Cool Cool Cool :)

Love,
Elder Braden Thorkelson
