Hey It's so good to hear
that you got the package. I was starting to worry. Elder Miles said that
his family got his package last week (and we sent them both on the same
day. I hope you liked the awesome German mug things :) They are classic
pieces of Germany.
The link that I sent to you was of the worldwide missionary
broadcast. It was just super awesome. I still strongly encourage
watching it. It was so good!
Ah man I find it so strange to
see people going home... and to see that my date is also coming up. All
of the Sister missionaries that came into the mtc with me will be going
home at the end of this transfer... weird! So that means that at the
end of this transfer I will have 6 months left.
The work here is still going rather well. It's a whole lot
better than when I got here. It makes me glad to see that I have had a
positive influence on my areas. I believe it has been this way for my
entire mission, and that makes me feel happy and accomplished.
Oh man. Shawn and Riley on a road trip down to St. Jeezy all
by themselves? It sounds like they would have had a ton of fun down
there. That's awesome.
This week has been pretty good for
me, except the fact that Elder Miles and I are both sick now... lame. We
both have the same cold. Mine is a couple days ahead of his. So what he
experiences today is about what I had experienced 3 days ago. Haha. He
said that yesterday he had some body aches... I had them 3 days before. I
am on the road to recovery, and I should be back to 100% in the next
week.
Anna is doing great. She continues to read the Book of Mormon
daily and she asks us questions when she doesn't understand. She is
already to Mosiah chapter 5. It's awesome. She has read it all in the
last 3 weeks! amazing. :) She is still trying to receive the witness of
the truthfulness. She wants to become a member and stay a member. It's
the mentality of a lot of Germans - ALL or NOTHING - . Which in some
cases is really good, because when a German member decides to follow the
commandments, he follows ALL of the commandments. When he decides to
come to church, he comes EVERY week. It's awesome :) But then there are
the negative sides, when if they don't come to church, they never go. It
has upsides and downsides. We're just going to continue trying to help
her to receive her witness of the truth so that she will be a strong
member :)
There haven't been too many awesome things this week, mostly because we're sick... but on the recovery! :D
Thank you for everything!
Love,
Elder Braden Thorkelson
