hey there- it finally happened. i have been transfered. i am in a new area in the Daejeon Zone called Gongju! it's a smaller town like Jeongup again. i guess i am just a country boy. i don't think i'd like the huge city. too many people...these small towns are like Utah or Idaho Falls. Quaint, quiet and people are nice.
I have another Korean companion! his name is An Gee Bum! he seems really cool and i think we will get a long great. he sings too, so looks like i'll have a really fun time singing to members or maybe in zone conference with him ! I am excited.
Well...ChungJu news first. It was sooooooooooOOOOOOO hard to leave. i was sad... really sad. I didn't even get to say goodbye to Autumn cause she had a class that called her in randomly...i was able to eat with Suejean though. it was so sad. we are really close. she's officially my big sister and i'm her little brother. i call her 누나 which is pretty much the equivalent of sis. oh...it was sad. she was took the news of me moving really hard- came to the terminal this morning to send me off. last night i had dinner with Insook, my korean mama, and my grandparents. it was bittersweet. she reminds me of you... therefore she is my mom here, she cried when i left. it made me so sad. she said she would come to idaho in a few years and stay with us. her son will come to BYUI! i don't know if i will ever see my grandparents again...sniff sniff.....he is seriously the korean version of grandpa. it is so funny to me. and his wife reminds me of grandma thork. it's so weird. they are seriously my fam. ah!
Now i am in Gongju! i guess we have a really awesome investigator named Dan. from Virginia. you'll have to tell that ashley girl who posted on my facebook that. she's from virginia. i've yet to meet them...i haven't been in Gongju for more than an hour. haha. umm...other than that i haven't a clue. Oh! my companions dad is a graphic designer! haha. cool....
I am glad you got a hold of Jessica- i miss her face. Also you need to ask Amanda Siddaway where she is- she wrote me once and i meant to write back, but i transfered and lost her letter! so i just assumed she would write back...but hasn't. so...apologize for me and request another. haha.
haha grandpa's package was great! tons of fruit leather!, some skittles, black licorice (i actually like, and is SO fun to feed to koreans...they hate it), soup, and of course potatoes! haha. i miss that old man. i am excited to get those peanuts! how did he know? i have been craving them- they are really expensive and i almost bought some the other week, but they were 16 bucks and i don't have that...ha
Everyone got the swine flu!? haha i guess it's been declared emergency situation in the states? everyone keeps asking me if my family is okay...they make a huge deal about it here... but if you are all alive and well i don't worry. they are like, "a 20 year old died from it!" ...cool. i have a family of survivors! haha.
well...i am pooped...the stress of the past few days killed me! haha. i didn't even eat the day i got my call!...i was thrown off. then i ate a ton cause people took me out to eat. and today i rode a bus for 4 hours...bleh. carsick. i want to rest. i don't have anything i can change into or anything yet either cause i shipped my stuff. too hard to carry. all i have are the clothes on my back, a few notebooks, shampoo...and candy. haha hopefully it gets here sooner than not.
love you lots. the church is true. missionary work rocks. the gospel brings so many blessings to our lives. we don't even realize. CTR!!
much love
