Week 2

Hello my friends and many family members who speak Spanish.
I say that because I made a mistake in my very first email saying ¨Mi amigos¨ and not ¨Mis Amigos.¨ Rookie mistake. haha.

But anyway. This week was just swell. It felt pretty long because I was awaiting this grand day to write back all of my loved ones.

Well first thing is first... The birds here are insane. They are literally everywhere and I have a story for yall. Well, my compañeros and I are just walking to the bathroom like we do often for our breaks, and what does one of the Elders see?? A bird swoops down, and lays and egg in mid flight. MID FLIGHT and the egg softly lands on the grass as it flies away. What do we do?? Well obviously we make a nest for it and put it in our classroom.

Then, the Director of the CCM (MTC), named Hermano Casteñeda, also in the 2nd chorum of the Seventy, comes over and we tell him about it and he´s like ¨necesito verlo¨ which means, I need to see it. hahah so he grabs it and asks if he can keep it in his office, and there it sat for a week. He was taking care of it. lol. And when he was gone for a few days, he put it on his computer so it would stay warm. I love this guy. haha

OH by the way, I found out that my Uncle Renan Disner baptized Hermano Nicolas Casteñeda´s grandma, so good job for making him the man he is today.

My Spanish is coming along really well! If you need me to talk to someone about the restauración in Spanish I gotchu :) haha. I love the vibes I get here at the MTC. Everyone is so friendly and happy to talk to you. and The talks and devotionals always have great speakers that I can really talk stuff out of. I am learning so much here and I am amazed at how quickly I am learning Spanish. This experience has been great so far and I wish the best for all of you. I am just so excited to be out in the field helping people! I wanna go now!! haha :)

I wish I had more to tell you, but each day is basically the same thing... haha We just follow the routine and teach lessons. Mi compañero and I taught 3 lessons yesterday... I mean, I felt pretty good teaching, but my companion would just say stuff that makes me shake my head. haha. whatever dood. But it´s all good, I am just pumped that I can kind of commincate in Spanish....

Oh yeah! I can mention the Latinos here. They are nuts! hahah, they have so much energy all the time. And we try to talk to them, even though we can´t understand them most of the time. One guy, Elder Garrido, offered 1000 pesos for my favorite tie. haha I just couldn´t do it though! It´s my favorite! And seriously every night, all the Latinos flock to our room. I guess they like us or something. haha.

Well anyway, these are my adventures as a missionary. Sorry I can´t send photos right now, but I will when I can! Love you all! Go do good things!

Loves,

Elder Thorkelson
