Arrival!

Dear Brother and Sister Thorkelson,

We were thrilled to meet your son, Shawn Bjorn Thorkelson, as he arrived at the San Antonio Airport.  We welcomed him to the greatest mission on earth, the Texas San Antonio Mission.  We look forward to watching him grow, hearing his experiences, and seeing his successes.

Your support from home can do a lot to keep your missionary focused on the work of the Lord.  For this reason, we have enclosed a sheet entitled "Information for Families of Full-time Missionaries."  We invite you to become familiar with this information so that it may help you know how best to support your missionary.

Sister Slaughter and I feel it a great honor to work closely with your son and to help him have a successful mission experience.

His first companion is Elder Daniel John Niebergall with an assignment in Del Rio A/Del Rio C (Spa), Texas. The address of their apartment is written below.
