Again I sit and write to my loved ones.
Hello! Hey how are you? I am doing pretty good! This week was pretty neat.
Well let's start with last P Day. I was bored out of my mind so I was
just like, yanno, hey lets go play some basketball, and it took a
while for my companion to respond, but eventually we actually did just
that. Jeez, that felt good to finally do something. We went over to
the park and these guys challenged us to play 21 with them. My
companion won... dang it.
Unfortunately that probably wasn't good for his nasty big toe. Haha.
The next day we went on exchanges and it was sweeeet. I went up to
Seguin, about an hour away, and worked that town with the District
Leader, Elder Smith. This guy is a good guy. Yanno, he is just really
realistic, straight up, and has a great time. The first thing we did
was service at a thrift store... basically just setting up Christmas
trees and stuff. That was a good time, minus the high schoolers trying
to hit on us. I don't have time for that! I'm on the Lord's errand!
Sheesh.😂 After that we visited a referral that they had received and
it turned out to be a super great lesson! It was going so well and we
had a member with us, but unfortunately our time was short because we
had to go to dinner (which we were already 20 minutes late for). Get
this, she actually asked as we were walking out the door, "Yanno, I've
always wondered were the priesthood went after the apostles died..."
Like, bingo! We have the answer! Que pena. We wanted to stay longer
and just baptize her already, but yanno, we had previous arrangements.
Dinner that night was pretty good. Breakfast for dinner! I was pumped
out of my mind because I love breakfast. And French toast! I love
French toast!... but what's this? Oh, there's pistachios AND craisins
in the bread?? The Audacity!! But I liked the family so I just ate it.
It wasn't at bad, I was just being dramatic. Elder Smith hated it
though. Haha.
Anyway, later that night, the ugliest dog peed on my shoe and that was
completely disgusting, but yanno, that won't stop me!✊🏼
~ Anyway, we have been working with members a lot this week. Well one
member, who just loves being a missionary, so it's great. He helps us
out almost whenever. He's a recently returned inactive, who has the
fire burning within his soul and it's fun. 😁 he was able to meet
several of our investigators and start friendships (which is key in
missionary work). The feelings were super above average in our lesson
with Daniel. What a guy.
The next day this same member drove us all the way to San Antonio so
my companion could get his ingrown toenail removed (the nasty big
toe)... turns out, it was too infected to operate so we have to return
tomorrow to finish the task.
We were also thrown a curveball this week as the family we thought we
were gonna get baptized soon was like... not ready to get baptized
soon... hah. But what do ya do? We are still working with them and I
like the challenge to discern their needs. It's always kind of
exciting when an investigator brings up concerns or something, because
then you can put some real effort into your personal studies.
~ El día siguiente we had the Branch Thanksgiving party! Wooooo yay
thanksgiving. I mean, the food was pretty alright. Too many
vegetables. 😂😛 but each desert was a veritable treat. And guess
what!? Zero of the people we invited (which were many) showed up to
the branch activity! And such is life. But as always, we keep moving
forward.
Also, we didn't know how the furnace in the camper worked so one
morning we woke up and it was 43°.... in the camper! We had icicles
hanging from our noses. A cold front had come and there was actually
frost outside! What the heck Texas! But don't worry Mom, we got a
heater and this morning was just fine.
But anyway, weeks always have their ups and downs, but there's one
thing that is always moving in a straight, unchangeable line and that
is the Gospel! As we try to align ourselves with the straight and
unchanging line, we will be happier! This is what I know.
Being a missionary is awesome! Love it!
Have an average(really good)week and do things that are good!❤️
