Día 448 Slightly above Average

Hello fam!
Hm... This week was pretty good.. I think. Let me look through my journal...

Okay, yeah it was pretty good. Not too much exciting happened. We did
have some interesting finding experiences because we met a couple
families from Burma. They hardly speak English but they really wanted
to talk to us. So we did and it was really fun. Then the next day I
wanted to learn some phrases in their language so I tried and Google
translate said I passed, so I was pumped for the return appointment. I
was gonna impress them... Then we get there the next day and I ask if
they speak Thai (because they said they were from Thailand first).
Nope! They speak a random language called Karen. I was tickled. Good
job. It's really sad though, because there's not a book of Mormon in
that language yet so they literally cannot partake of the goodness. I
was sad. I guess we are preparing them for the day that it comes..

Oh! Ha, so with the first Burmese family we met, my companion is
asking them how they are doing, and he could not for the life of him
understand what they were saying. They said "good" like 4 times and
I'm just like, "Elder, they are speaking English, just continue on
with the conversation." His mind was blown. He thought they were
speaking jibberish.

We had zone conference also this week. It was pretty alright. It
wasn't like a super crazy amazing conference. But we mostly talked
about how we can find more people.

We ate pizza at a super ghetto picnic table. We made cups out of water
bottles. Sometimes life is funny.

I wish I had more stories from this week, but it was just a good week
with great lessons. Our plans just worked. Wait! I got some more
(sorry for thinking out loud).

There was a night and we were planning to do some finding on a certain
side of town. While over there I had a random thought about an
investigator we lost contact with. With the support of my companion we
headed to his house. On the way there I saw a kid who looked like the
investigator, so I said, "hey I think that's him.... Turn around." We
passed second time and I thought, oh yeah it's him. So we turned
around and on the third pass we pulled over and it was him! We were
able to set up a return appointment. He's sweet. ACT on the random
thoughts you have!!

Then the other night it was super late and we were walking around.
Then we see a moving truck and a family packing it up. It was so
perfect. We helped them pack it up and left a good impression with
them. The guy was a huge baseball fan so we got along well. I found
out that Mike Trout is off the DL so I am happy.

We have a couple different baptisms scheduled for 2 weeks. We are
excited for that. This area is so great.

OH HEY. I am moving into a new apartment tomorrow, because ours is not
the best. SO, don't mail anything to my old address. I know that
affects a lot of you. You must resist.

That's about it this week. I love you all! The spirit is real and is
literally there to guide us through our lives. Any impression that you
receive to do something good, just do it. Listen, do what you can to
make others happy and you will end up in the right direction.
Have a great week.
Love y'all.
