Hey fam!
So I guess I sorta have exciting news. Sadly my reign as a zone leader
was short-lived and I am being transferred to the other side of the
mission. I am pretty steamed that I have to leave this area, because
it was so good. Haha. We were treated so well and the members loved
us.
However the Lord has bigger things in store for me! I will be doubled
in to a former sister area up in a small town called Taylor which is
above Austin. I'm gonna train again as well! And we will be double
covering a Spanish Ward and English Ward. I am pretty excited. I have
always wanted to serve up there in that area. So I have mixed feelings
about this whole change. The worst part is moving into a sisters old
apartment. Those are the worst. It'll be a new experience for me and
I'm excited. President likes to keep me on my toes apparently. Getting
too comfortable is never good. For example, in baseball, if you aren't
on your toes out in the field, you're gonna look like a goon when the
ball goes between your legs. Thanks President for keepin me honest out
here.
Well, currently it is storming like mad and there are a bunch of
sirens going off. I feel safe... This morning felt like we were in a
typhoon no big deal. The power went off like 3 times. I think this
area is pretty ticked that I'm leaving.
This week was nuts though. As usual I guess. Let's see. Well first, we
went to this legendary place called Chuy's. They had the famous "a big
as yo face" burritos which were really good. I also got a fun t shirt
from there. Wednesday was a day to behold. For service I shoveled like
1000 pounds of rocks out of a truck and helped clean up a yard. There
was a root they wanted to be removed. So I began to hack at it with a
pickax. Then a hatchet, then a pickax. So it took like 40 minutes to
remove this 8-10 inch thick root. I was so wrecked afterward, but I
also felt amazing. The member gave me 2 packets of "energy." They
claimed it was all natural and fine to drink so I just trusted them. I
also had lots of energy. I felt tingly afterward. It is fine.
The next day we helped a member lay tile. So basically I just
increased the amount of manly things I can do. He also took us out to
lunch.. Good Ole Whataburger. While eating I was talking to him about
where I could find a ukulele. He told me Amazon and then just started
looking... Long story short, I may have a ukulele soon an I'm pumped.
None of the pawn shops have any. That night the other Elders stayed
over because of traveling purchases. We played battleship and apples
to apples. It was a good night.
Hmm... Friday the district got together and we cleaned out a trailer
that was pretty nasty. That was a hoot and a holler. There was a
skateboard outside. I did a couple heel flips. I miss that.
Saturday was a baptism.
Sunday we had a Baptism on base. I baptized a trainee! In a fountain
outside! It was sweet. The kid was so excited to get baptized. The
best kind of baptism.
We also had dinner with one of my favorite families, the Sansores. Awe.
Well, today we went to TGI Fridays. That was exciting. Lolz. We also
have to do transfer Logistics.... That's the only thing I won't miss.
Haha. This week will be exciting. I hope my trainee is fun. Also,
today I finished the book of Mormon. I went really deep in this read.
It is confirmed to me that it is the word of God. It is too complex
and complicated and doctrinally sounding... If that's how you spell it.
By reading it I have grown spiritually. Spiritual growth brings
happiness. I love you all. Have an above average week.
